Good!Before you start,let me give you some guidelines which will make your work easier and will greatly increase the chances that the submission will be accepted for publication.Before you start on a great design concept,contact the editor to find out whether it is of interest to their readers.While doing this,attach the circuit diagram and a brief synopsis on what it does,how it works and how much it might cost with your query letter.Don't make the manuscript look pretty.Most editors prefer it in plain,unadorned text.Similarly,the circuit diagram (pencil sketch,digital image or a computer printout) must be clear and legible circuit diagram.
I strongly recommend that potential contributors read published works in previous issues of the publication prior to submitting a query to get an idea about the standard and style of the publication.In general, the reasons for probable outright rejection of a query include:
- The design involves copyrighted (or patented) material and would not be available for use by the readers without licensing.
- The circuit consists of just a few components and any reader would routinely come up with the same solution.
- The writing style is verydifficult, or impossible, to understand.
- The proposed idea is copy of a published work with only minor alterations.
- Circuit components are not readily available and reasonable in cost.
